Jimmy’s Corner

Jimmy’s Corner is MoH’s platform for debate, opinion and thoughts about homelessness now. Inspired by the memory of the late Jimmy Carlson OBE, the page includes articles and a range opinion by different people about what is happening in the streets, in hostels and in people’s lives.

Jimmys’ Corner is MoH’s occasional blog platform that is part of our ongoing and continuous efforts to highlight opinion about homelessness today and keep alive the memory of our dear friend, colleague and former trustee, the late Jimmy Carlson OBE. Himself, a former homeless army veteran, Jimmy dedicated the latter twenty years of his life to raising public awareness of the ongoing plight of homeless people. Although very humble and respectful, he was not one to mince his words, regardless of whom he was speaking to.

Part response to the tragedy at Grenfell Tower, part response to our ongoing campaigning work,  Jimmy’s Corner tackles new and different parts of the homelessness story today. Posts can be found below.
