Essential info about Secret Museum

Secret Museum

This week our new show Secret Museum is opening to the public between 27th October and 06 November. Because the show is in a secret location, we wanted to share a few more details about the starting point and what to expect on the day.

WHERE TO MEET

The meeting point for the experience is outside Costa Coffee, BFI IMAX 1 Charlie Chaplin Walk, London SE1 8XR

The Costa Coffee at BFI IMAX is located under a roundabout linking Waterloo Road, Stamford Street, York Road and Waterloo Bridge – you can access the location via a pedestrian underpass. The entrance to Costa Coffee is located right next to EXIT 5 of the underpass.

The nearest tube station is London Waterloo Station.

Please make sure you arrive at least ten minutes before your booked time. EG if it is the 2pm experience, please arrive no later than 1.50pm.

If you are unable to find the starting point, or arrive late, please call or text 07753377978

WHAT TO BRING

If you booked early, you will have received a pre show pack in the post. This pack contains a rainbow sweatband and an LED candle. Please wear your rainbow wristband on arrival and bring your LED candle with you. If you haven’t received a pre show pack, don’t worry, just bring yourself!

This is partly an outdoor experience so wrap up appropriately for the weather. You might want to bring an umbrella or raincoat in case of wet weather. We will have a few ponchos available to hand out too.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Locate others wearing the rainbow sweatband and introduce yourself. Then… simply wait for the music to play! Further instructions will then be given.

A NOTE ABOUT COVID SAFETY

We take your safety very seriously. We’d be grateful if you could wear a face covering when indoors unless exempt. Spare masks will be available on arrival at the venue if you forget yours, along with hand sanitizer. Our friendly front of house team will let you know about any distancing measures on arrival.

The outdoor experience will last approximately 40 minutes and the route is wheelchair accessible.

BSL SHOWS

If you are attending a BSL event and require sign language support, please identify our sign language interpreters Caroline and Ali who will be wearing a black high-vis jacket.

MAKING A DONATION

Museum of Homelessness is a small social justice arts charity and we couldn’t exist without the generous support of members of the public who have given donations to the museum over the years.

We are operating a cashless Pay What You Can box office at SECRET MUSEUM. So if you enjoy the experience, and are in a position to make a donation, just tap your card with our friendly team on the day.

AND FINALLY – NO SPOILERS! – HELP US KEEP THE SECRET SAFE!

We’d be grateful if you could help us to keep the location of the secret museum a secret so that other audience groups can enjoy the experience after you. So once you know where our secret museum is… try to keep the location secret, and don’t share with other audience groups or on social media. Thank you!

If you require any further info about your booking, please contact Chloe on chloe@museumofhomelessness.org

See you soon!
