Museum of Homelessness at the European Museum of the Year

MoH directors Matt and Jess Turtle spoke on solidarity at this year's European Museum of the Year Awards conference in Bialystok, Poland with MoH Chair Sharon Heal

MoH's work was very well received and supported by the European museum community and it was also a gift to get a wider perspective and be inspired by the work of others.

A highlight was hearing Ihor Poshyvailo who co-founded the heritage emergency response committee in Ukraine. Museums in Ukraine are offering shelter to people and the committee, made up of museum workers, carries out rapid response emergency work saving cultural heritage and detailing war crimes in the war zones.

Ihor said "When homes are torn down and people are displaced what remains? Culture, memory, hope and collective action"
