criminal exhibition extended till october 31st
We are extending our current exhibition Criminal an Untold History of Homelessness, Resistance, Survival until 31st October due to significantly high footfall and excellent reviews in the Art Newspaper, The Guardian, The Observer, World of Interiors
Our visitor figures have exceeded last year’s footfall in just 3 weeks.
Visitors are saying:
“An incredible balance of information, shown in so many different ways. Emotional, powerful and still optimistic.”
“A must see in London! A really good combination of learning about the history of homelessness and experiencing how it still affects people today, and how the powers that be are not helping! Brilliant! A template for what a museum should be today!”
“An inclusive, educational museum in Finsbury Park. The staff were all so kind, and knowledgeable. The "Criminal" exhibit moved me in a way I hadn't predicted. The verbatim theatre was also excellent. Well done to all involved, will definitely be coming back soon. Would 100% recommend you go!”
To celebrate, we have collaborated with 10Foot on a 12 page Big Issue special, out on 15th June, where we have announced the extension.
This special magazine issue is broadly themed on the commons and includes a fictional report of the 1381 Peasant uprising from Jake Hanrahan (independent conflict journalist and founder of Popular Front), a piece on the commons of care from Dorothy Spencer (published author by Actually and LRB bestselling author) and a piece by Max Lennard (technologist working at the forefront of privacy, data and decentralisation) on the digital commons.
In addition the issue includes an in conversation between 10Foot and Jess and Matt Turtle on their collaboration and 10Foot’s contributions to the show as well as pieces from all of our contributing artists Matt Bonner, Spelling Mistakes Cost Lives, Gemma Lees, Surfing Sofas and Dani C.
