We have opened our doors – HUGE thanks

Museum of Homelessness has opened its doors! A combined collective effort that has involved renovating, restoring, grafting and a lot of hard work has come to a successful completion.

Over a sunny weekend, we welcomed visitors to How to Survive the Apocalypse, our first show in our permanent new home. Our opening has been accompanied with some touching and wonderful feedback from some of our nearest and dearest:

“It felt like sitting in our family home, sharing memories of the practical, emotional and creative experience of surviving together.” The Outside Project

“Full of creativity, love, and hope. Go see it!” - Haringey Welcome

“It’s a stunning place, full of love, care & solidarity, hopeful for us all.” Coffee Afrik

“Inspiring, powerful and full hope - get tickets while you can” Queer House Party

We’ve also had some great coverage including write-ups from the BBC, Economist, Guardian and the cover of the Big Issue!

“Flipping the script on homelessness…thought-provoking.” - Euronews

“Demonstrates that there is much to learn from the resourcefulness, resilience and creativity of homeless people.” - The Guardian

“Reframe[s] the myths and stereotypes” - Londonist

The work to open the museum could not have been completed without our huge community of supporters, volunteers, collaborators, donors and artists all of whom are essential to keep our small, grassroots operation ongoing. A huge thanks again for all the support to get us to this point.

Please Book in and visit us soon. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
